Transform your Greenwich home with a stunning loft conversion
Why you should convert your Greenwich loft?
Create additional living space
Maximise the space within your home without increasing its footprint. By savouring your original driveway and garden space whilst expanding the usable and liveable space within your home, you are able to add value to your Greenwich property with a cost-effective conversion. Our style of sympathetic planning will allow you to create a functional living space on the top floor of your home, with sleek storage spaces and a bright Juliette balcony to allow you to use every inch of your new space.
Add value to your home
A bespoke loft conversion can increase the value of your home by around 30% meaning that you are able to invest in your families future whether you are considering moving home soon or are planning to stay in your solid family home for the long run. Alongside the added value to your home, you will also increase your all-important curb appeal with the additional living space and garden.
When deciding to relocate and move your family to a new home in a new area, you also have to think about the additional costs that come with moving. By expanding your home within its boundaries, you are able to save the moving fees and invest them into your current family home. The home improvements of an additional storey within your home may be all you’re looking for with a new property and can avoid those wasted costs. You can also continue to live in the home throughout the conversion process, so there will be no need to rent a place to move to while our work is being completed.
Stick with what’s familiar
The decision of moving your family to a new and unknown area, surrounded by unfamiliar faces is one you don’t land on easily. To avoid those tough decisions, you can produce an extra storey of your home without any major construction needed. As the loft space already exists within your home, we wouldn’t need to build anything from scratch which will allow your family to resume with your daily lives as normal.
How can we transform your Greenwich home?
Our turn key service will give you the reassurance and confidence that you need when allowing team to enter your home and transform it. We will cover every inch of your conversion, from the building and plumbing, to the electricity and the fitting of storage solutions. No matter the size or shape of your loft space, we will follow our plans, leading with your ideas, to create your own unique space. Having completed many loft conversions in Greenwich, we have gained the knowledge of the planning regulations typical to the borough and will use our expertise to submit your forms and gain planning approval for your home. We will demonstrate our sympathetic design and build approach and match your conversion with the appropriate feel of the rest of your home, both internally and externally.
Your loft conversion questions answered
Have a question about loft conversions? We’re happy to help. Read our answers to the questions that our customers frequently ask us.
How long does a loft conversion take?
Depending on the size and type, most loft conversions take around 12 weeks.
Will I need to move out during the project?
No – it’s safe to carry on living inside the property. We work from the scaffolding before the stairs go in. Any disruption you experience will mainly come from noise.
Where will you place our new staircase?
We will be able to fit your staircase around your existing layout and will find an option to suit you. If possible, we will try to fit your new staircase over the existing staircase so that it fits seamlessly within your property.
Do I need planning permission for a loft conversion?
This depends on your location and type of property – all flats require planning, but if you live in a house that isn’t in a designated area, then permitted development is usually used and no planning is required. There are many other factors to take into account and one of our surveyors can advise further.
How much does a loft conversion cost?
Most cost between £30,000 and £50,000. This depends on the size and type – bigger and more complicated jobs take longer and therefore will cost more. See pricing information for further details.
What is a party wall agreement and do I need one for a loft conversion?
A party wall agreement (PWA) is required if you have a semi-detached or a terraced property and you are working within or near your neighbour’s boundary. We can advise when the surveyor visits.
Does a loft conversion add value to a home?
Yes – it will add from 20% to 30% upwards depending on the size, design and type.
How much head height do you need for a loft conversion?
If you have a clear head height of 2m then a loft conversion may be possible. Our surveyor will need to assess this to confirm.
What’s possible with your loft conversion?
